Integrated Workforce Strategy Development
The Objective
The objective of the project was to develop an integrated nursing and allied health workforce development strategy jointly with Bass Coast Health (BCH) and Federation University to meet the growing needs of Bass Coast and South Gippsland communities.
Our Approach
The approach was based on co-design methodology which involved:
- Building on workforce supply and demand analysis to provide an overview of workforce development priorities and future workforce and resource requirements for nursing and allied health
- Horizon scanning of innovations in training and education of nursing and allied health workforce
- Financial analysis of identified workforce development initiatives for nursing and allied health workforce
- Structured consultations with key stakeholders to inform the workforce strategy and a Workshop with BCH and Federation University representatives to review and further develop the integrated workforce models
The Outcomes
The project report presented key strategies, financial impact of initiatives and implementation steps to realise a shared vision for an integrated model of workforce development for nursing and allied health workforce.
