The Objective

To provide the new entity of Grampians Health to comprehensively plan health services for its primary catchment and the broader regional catchment to identify how to best demonstrate enhanced service provision. 

Our Approach

The project approach included three key stages to inform an integrated clinical services plan.

(i) Foundational work: This included the compilation and synthesis of data to analyse historical and current service profi le information, demand modelling, analysis of market share and self-suffi ciency.

(ii) Stakeholder consultations: This included a range of discussions with clinical stakeholders, community members and external stakeholders, including other health service providers and non-merger entities.

(iii) Service model development: This combined quantitative analysis findings, including technology impacts and workforce models, service profile and demand analysis and the qualitative findings from the stakeholder consultations to inform the final report.

The Outcomes

The clinical service plan recommended a comprehensive and coherent set of future strategies. Key strategies were identified for improved patient access, meeting greater demand locally, enhancing patient experience and outcomes and providing innovative and contemporary service models across Grampians Health campuses. The plan identified facility requirements, value-based care enhancements, innovations in workforce models and advances in digital and other technologies to enhance patient care and service efficiency.
