Clinical Service Plan

The Objective

The objective of the project was to develop a roadmap for the newly formed Dhelkaya Health to plan for an integrated range of health services for the Mt Alexander Shire catchment. 

Our Approach

The project involved undertaking a service catchment analysis and compiling baseline data on clinical services, alongside stakeholder consultations to identify initiatives for strengthening services. This included enhancing existing services and developing new ones to better meet community needs. Key focus areas included improving service delivery for streamlined, client-centered care, increasing opportunities for staff development, training, and knowledge sharing, and ensuring the future sustainability of the health service.

The Outcomes

The Clinical Services Plan proposed specific strategies for community-based services, urgent care, maternity, procedural services, and all acute and subacute inpatient care and sought to ensure a continuum of care across the catchment, maintain patient choice in access to care, and promote greater service integration to reduce duplication, enhancing both efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare delivery.
