Future of East Wimmera Health Service

The Objective

The purpose of project was to develop a firm basis on which the future of East Wimmera Health Service (EWHS) can be established. 

Our Approach

The project entailed undertaking an environmental and service profile analysis including historic service profile and demand forecasts and development of a final strategic service plan that included scenario modelling and role delineation that catered to addressing identified service gaps. The work also examined service development opportunities, workflow configurations and teaching and training opportunities. High-level ICT and infrastructure requirements were also considered.

The Outcomes

The service plan provided a pathway for future service provision that addresses the health needs of the catchment population by:
(i) ensuring a ‘whole-of-service’ approach while considering the unique characteristics of each campus;
(ii) articulating viable, innovative options for service configuration; and
(iii) outlining EWHS’s role, strategic positioning, and a preferred alternative future that defines key strategies
