Early Parenting Centres Funding Model

The Objective

Aspex was engaged to revise the current funding model for Early Parenting Centres and to develop a new model.

Our Approach

The main stages of the project included:

• Foundational work that examined the policy context, reviewed the core architecture of the current funding model, and examined underlying costs of Early Parenting Centre services;
• Development of a funding model framework taking into account the policy and strategic context of the Department of Health;
• Development of a new funding model which involved sector engagement; and
• Development of an implementation plan.

The Outcomes

The funding model provided the basis for the transition from block funding to a more equitable and efficient activity-based funding model for early parenting centres.
